Notes: AU. Secret Agent Siwon meets Rich Boy Kyuhyun.
Part 1 Part 2A Part 2B Part 3 Part 4 Siwon smiled at the figure clinging onto him. Kyuhyun was absolutely adorable asleep, something he had fully expected but actually seeing it in person was far more potent. It couldn’t be good for his health to be so utterly captivated in Kyuhyun’s sleeping expression.
He hadn’t been able to stop smiling since last night.
After the second kiss they had been shy and embarrassed; it made him feel like a teenager in love again. Siwon was immensely pleased to have Kyuhyun shyly pull at his sleeve when he had made to leave, asking him to stay just a little bit longer. Just the memory of the blushing face made him tighten his arms around Kyuhyun.
They had moved to the living room of Kyuhyun’s room after finishing the rest of the cake and had relocated to the couch to watch something. Siwon had fallen asleep to soft breathing with his mind still reeling over what had happened last night only to wake up to an adorably rumpled Kyuhyun snuggling against him and an annoying beeping noise coming from another room. No doubt the alarm Kyuhyun normally set for mornings, which meant Siwon would have to wake Kyuhyun up soon.
Maybe just five more minutes.
Immediately the image of an annoyed Kyuhyun came unbidden to his mind, causing his smile to grow that tiniest bit bigger.
“Why are you grinning like that? You look stupider than normal.” Siwon found his arms being pushed away as a blushing Kyuhyun got up, still looking wonderfully rumpled and sleepy. “Just seeing you makes me happy.” Somehow the other blushed even more at those words and Siwon resisted the urge to just smother Kyuhyun in kisses.
“Sappy idiot, go use that line on a girl.” Kyuhyun stalked towards the bathroom stubbornly refusing to face him; something that just made the warmth spread through Siwon as he noticed how embarrassed the younger was.
“I really meant it though!”
Siwon moved to follow him towards his bathroom only to have the door slammed in his face.
“I’m getting changed so go back to your room; I have a meeting in half an hour.”
“You didn’t bring any clothes with you though-“
“GO GET READY IN YOUR ROOM.”
--
Siwon couldn’t help the words that left his mouth the moment he saw Kyuhyun after he had been kicked out of the room.
“You look adorable.” The blush and protests that ‘grown men did not look adorable’ was worth it, but as they stood in the elevator that would take them to the main building he found himself noticing the tenseness in Kyuhyun’s shoulders.
“Are you okay? You look tense…” Kyuhyun looked startled at his sudden statement but didn’t reply until they were out of the elevator.
“I’m not. It’s just Zhou Mi hasn’t phoned in today…it’s not like him.” He avoided looking at Siwon.
“Have you tried phoning him?”
“Yes, it just goes to answer phone and before you suggest visiting him, you know we don’t know where he lives.” Kyuhyun paused, gaze still averted. “I do have a meeting today, so we need to go now, we’re already late.”
Siwon could tell by the stiff shoulders that Kyuhyun was trying to hide the worry and stress he was feeling. His heart clenching at the thought of the other upset, he slowly grabbed the others hand and gave it a gentle squeeze. Instead of the rebuttal Siwon had been expecting, he got a tightening of those slender fingers as a red hue appeared on Kyuhyun’s face.
“Stop looking so smug. I’ve already told you how stupid it looks.”
Siwon didn’t bother replying, his huge smile answered for him.
As they walked along ideas of cheering up Kyuhyun ran through his mind. “Do you want to go to ‘Ozenda’ later? I promised you I’d buy you cake…” He trailed off as he caught sight of the even more depressed look on Kyuhyun’s face.
“I can’t. I have meetings all day until late. My Dad cancelled all his meetings so I have to deal with them.”
Another thing that was causing Kyuhyun to be depressed, Siwon tried to give a bright smile and gave another squeeze to the hand he held. Sadly the walk to the conference was far too short, Kyuhyun letting go of his hand to push open the door. As they walked in Siwon found his eyes drawn to the enthusiastic waving in front of him.
“Siwon-hyung!”
Ignoring the amused look Kyuhyun was giving him; Siwon sat down in his normal seat before replying.
“Eunhyuk, Kangin…where’s Donghae?”
Kangin merely gave him a weird look whilst Eunhyuk started explaining. “Well, Donghae’s with Mr Cho who asked us to come oversee the meetings he’d be missing out on! He didn’t say why though…” Despite the innocent enough reason Siwon felt a sense of foreboding, Eunhyuk’s story felt untrue somehow. Before Siwon could question anymore a pointed cough drew his attention.
“I’m sorry to interrupt your little catch-up but I’d like to start this meeting sometime today…”
“Ah sorry Kyu…”
Kyuhyun blushed at the use of his nickname but didn’t show any other signs of acknowledgement. Siwon grinned at making the other just a little bit flustered; no doubt a lovesick look on his face and settled into his seat comfortably as he turned his gaze on the sudden appearance of most of the team.
He hadn’t heard from them in a while, after all watching after two different targets gave them no reason to report to each other. They had Leeteuk as their middle man anyways. Eunhyuk looked bored, something that was expected, but it was Kangin that was placing him on edge. The man looked annoyed about something and kept glancing at Kyuhyun.
Siwon frowned.
Time passed slowly for him though. Despite the initial nagging of his mind that something had been completely wrong with Eunhyuk’s explanation, Siwon could do little about it as he waited for the meeting to end; which should be soon. Sure enough Kyuhyun soon stood and bowed before adjourning the meeting.
“That’s all for today then. Thank you for your time.”
Siwon stood, watching as Kangin seemed to whisper something to Eunhyuk, who then turned to give him a worried look before leaving without Kangin. Pushing the worry out of his mind for a moment he turned to look at Kyuhyun to ask what meeting he had next only to have Kangin suddenly appeared in front of him. Said man shot a look at Kyuhyun before focusing on Siwon.
“I need to talk to you.” The irate expression on Kangin’s face brought back the worry from before.
“I have to look-“
“Right now.” Without bothering to wait for a reply the man left, leaving Siwon standing there frowning. He was startled out of his reverie by a shy hand gripping his; something that made his heart swell despite the worry towards Kangin’s blatant irritation. Siwon turned to look questioningly at Kyuhyun, who was steadfastly avoiding his gaze.
“Just go talk to him. I’ll be okay on my own for the next meeting.”
Siwon was reluctant to leave Kyuhyun though, especially when he knew the other was still depressed despite the confident persona during the meeting and he wanted to be there for Kyuhyun, but he knew Kangin was not a patient man.
“Okay. I’ll see you later then…”
Despite his words it wasn’t until the adorable male gave him a reprimanding glare that he let go of Kyuhyun’s hand and actually left.
--
Kangin’s frown was the first thing he saw once he exited.
“Is something wrong?” The older man was leaning against the wall, Donghae and Eunhyuk nowhere in sight.
“You tell me Siwon.”
Siwon gave a confused look.
“How long have you been seeing him?” He felt his stomach drop at the question. Had he been that obvious? “…What do you mean?” Kangin gave him a glare. “Do I look stupid to you? You’ve had a sappy grin on your face the moment you came in to the meeting, not to mention the kid kept glancing at you throughout the meeting.”
Siwon fidgeted as Kangin pointed out his observations. “It only happened last night.”
“You know the rules! You shouldn’t start a relationship with a target.” Siwon felt irrationally angry then. “What about you? You dated a-“
“You know that was different!” Siwon walked closer to Kangin. “How is it any different? You guys were fine and-“He was interrupted by a fist coming his way, his reflexes kicking in as he dodged towards the left. Kangin swiftly turned around to face him. “You know this isn’t about me. This is-“
“No! This is exactly the same as-“God Siwon was getting sick of his sentences being cut off, but he was wary. He had his back to the wall and an angry Kangin in front.
“You can’t trust him. You need to wake up Siwon!”
“How do you know I can’t?”
Kangin shoved him harshly against the wall.
“Because we have evidence you can’t!”
Siwon felt his heart drop through the throbbing of his back. “Wh- what evidence?”
Kangin sighed tensely, moving back to give him room. “We’ve been intercepting his calls and emails since looking after him. We thought at first that they were innocent, well as innocent as a corporate CEO is. We were going to send a message to Leeteuk to lessen the warnings for them until we intercepted this call.”
Kangin took out a phone, no doubt the actual copy they had recorded. Siwon frowned as he stared at it, part of him not wanting to listen. At Kangin’s impatient look he placed it near his ear; the somewhat familiar voice of Mr Cho was unmistakable.
“Hello?”
“Mr Cho.”
“Look it isn’t safe to have this conver-“
“This is no time for excuses. We want the money you owe us soon Mr Cho. After all you know we have someone very important to you working for us. Our bargaining chips so to say.”
“Please I need a little bit more time!”
“You know that’s not how it works. You know we can just order him-“
“Okay. Please just, don’t hurt him.”
“I’m glad you understand. You know Zeus doesn’t like it when debts aren’t paid.”
“Sorry, I just need more time and-“
Dial tone. The other caller had disconnected.
“Have you traced this?” Kangin gave him another glare. “It’s too encrypted. That’s why I sent Eunhyuk out first to check with Leeteuk if they’ve made any progress.” Siwon didn’t respond, still looking intently at the phone.
“This is why we came today.” He could feel his world crumbling around him as he tried to comprehend what he had just heard.
“It can’t be Kyuhyun though, he could’ve meant anyone!” Kangin looked like he wanted to hit him.
“Who else could he possibly have meant?! ‘Someone important’, Mr Cho only has his son. His wife divorced him years ago; you’ve obviously been seduced by him!”
Siwon let out a frustrated noise, his mind warring with anger and disbelief. “Kangin there is no way this can be true! I’ve been with him the whole time since I was assigned to him and not once has he shown any-“
Another hard shove, Kangin looked like he wanted to punch him again.
“Look, do not jeopardize this mission. You know full well that I wouldn’t be having this talk if I didn’t think it was at least concrete evidence. Don’t make me remove you from the team. Get it through your head that Kyuhyun is most likely working for ‘Zeus’. Maybe all of this was part of their plan to distract our agents from their trail. Just be ready for the signal to turn him in.”
With a dark expression Kangin pushed bodily pass Siwon, anger radiating off him in waves.
Siwon felt numb.
--
After the revelations earlier he had sat through a few more meetings before he could get some time alone, which is how Siwon found himself walking blankly to his room.
Thanking God that Kyuhyun had told him to not bother him tonight because he had to catch up on paperwork; Siwon stumbled into his room, not bothering to switch on the light he moved blindly towards his bedroom before sitting on the bed.
His head throbbed with a headache, the earlier happiness replaced with anger, confusion and disbelief.
There was no way Kyuhyun was working for Zeus. How could someone fake being so adorable?
Then again it had been awfully convenient of him to have ‘bumped’ into Siwon at the club the first time they met and to have been the one he was assigned to as well. It was just like the theory Eunhyuk had mentioned back in mission briefing.
“Aish! Maybe he’s part of the underground and he was deliberately distracting you!”
He remembered dismissing the idea. Kangin wouldn’t have gotten so angry if he didn’t have some solid suspicions about Kyuhyun.
He can’t be…
Heart hurting, Siwon stared blankly at the wall in front of him.
…can he?

“I-I hate you! Just leave!”
