Here is a nice little update.

27 Days until my promotion and I will now longer be a apart of the plebeian salt of the Earth.

So here will be a little photo montage of the last few days.

So we had a parade a few days ago for our beloved, retiring Dean

I got out of it because of Sandhurst practice but got some pictures of a parade with 1st and 2nd Regiment marching. The trees are all green now and the place looks wonderful, bit bleak I think in these ones.

But as I got back from Sandhrust practice, I liked out the window and this is what I saw...

And looking left...

And right...

yes, I saw my roommate's beautiful hair.

There were thousands upon thousands of Orthodox Jews, who came up to watch the parade and tour West Point. It is apparently an annual thing for Passover. Their way of saying thanks. It was quite surreal, especially amusing was watching cadets try to guide the multitudes away from restricted areas.

And here is a fun one, this girl was taking a picture of me so i returned the favour.

Last Sunday a host of bagpipe players came to West Point. There is something I love about the sound of bagpipes and drums. They have been a mainstay in armies from the British Isles for ages, used to unnerve the enemy, their haunting sound breaking through the mist and echoing off the valleys.

The great thane remembers his fallen warriors...

There were hundreds of them. There can be no greater sound then when they all played amazing grace together. There were pipers from all over. If you can spot him out, there is a great looking man, with a perfect looking beard adorned with a crimmon red coat, he came from the Her Majesty's pipes and drums.

Sword dancing...

So enchanting.

And now for Sandhurst

The Sandhrust competition was this morning. Teams came from the various service academies, the academies of allied nations, and the best ROTC units. A nine mile long course, it wraps though the muddy, rocky, forested mountains of West Point. The teams participated in full combat gear, including rappelling gear and gas masks, and peform military skills and a plethora of strenuous events that must come from the Commandant and the BTO amusement at cadets' pain. We got cut some points for some questionable reasons and a couple of our best shooters only had time to get a couple shots off on the range but overall, our countless hours of practice paid off, and we performed very well.

Proudly weathering the storm.

I prefer the sword, more dignified.

Woad warrior, um green woad...its more tactical... fear my Celtic wraith. A bit of well earned narcissism.

The Brits, winners of the competition for the past decades. Should that make me proud or despair?

Well this did not help either way... the winners of this year's Sandhurst competition were the...

Canadians?
How'd that happen?

And yes, Generals do have the ability to use magic, that blue sphere is a force field. I may be thrown in jail for revealing that classified information.
