Work troubles are being addressed. I had a brief affair, he moved away, and I don't miss him. My mother spent four days with me; we laughed, discussed my life and hers. In short, we kibbitzed -- and it was fun

That looks interesting. Did you ever see the animated special on TV "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe"? I forget what year it was, but I was in elementary school when it aired. I'd like to see that again.

Nightly, I feel a brief ache, wishing there were other limbs and lips nearby, in a loving package. It's bearable though, and it passes quickly.
