got my dorm assignment...

Dobie 323-A1
ALDERMAN ROAD

good, bad, ugly? im thinking the A means building A on the map and hoping that the 1 means im on the first floor, but perhaps thats completely erroneous.

I'm no scientist, but the way it's set up at Cornell is that all of the maps are grids with like A-F on one side and 1-9 or whatever on the other, so maybe it's the grid the building is in? I'd guess that 323 would mean room 23 on the third floor.

Again, with the not being a scientist though :D

Breakdown of 323-A1:

3 = floor
2 = suite
3 = room

A1 = system stuff. I think your roommate will be numbered A2. It doesn't affect anything real-world, to my knowledge

I think I lived in Dobie for a week at a camp at UVa. I don't remember being overwhelmed by its architectural majesty, but it has a lot of nice green space around it.

well, I enjoyed New Dorms when I lived there. Can't say much about Dobie (I forget which it is) but if it has air conditioning you're lucky! I also really really enjoyed the suite-style system of living. I got to know the people in my suite really well and ended up living with them in the following years (and still am, in fact).

(You- you're going to audition for Much Ado About Nothing, right?)
