Robin Tolmach Lakoff spoke very highly of Deborah Tannen. I'm really hoping to read some of her writings sometime.

I am not that familiar with her. But given all the talk about gender perspectives of late, it seemed something interesting. Tied in with some things I was reflecting on from Joseph Campbell too.
