One week remaining. One week.

It's coming down to the end of this training cycle. 5 days til Bayshore. I started tweaking yesterday during my long run, about breakfast food of all things, so there's that. I don't think I've ever really done that before. I've been nervous, sure, just not obsessive. I just have to let it ride and trust in the training at this point. The ( Read more... )

While not feeling quite so prepared as you, nor as confident, I think I know exactly how you feel.

Saturday, I get to see where all this hard work will take me... and I'm loving it!

That's great! Any sense of where your final goals are going to lie?

Well... primary goal is the BQ at 3:15:59 or faster. But after my rather discouraging run today, my confidence has dipped. And old injury has reared it's ugly head- something that was mild earlier in the training, but feels something close to full blown now.

All part of the game, but piss poor timing, ya'know? :P

My current marathon PR is 3:39:16. I wouldn't mind getting a new one. And in between is something in the 3:20s.

Yeah, I hear you, I'm popping advil for a bit of ITBS right now, which is helping a lot, and should be mostly gone by Saturday. Sounds like yours is a little bit more serious though. The timing does suck though. 26 weeks of training, and then...oops. Hopefully its recovered enough so you are good to go for it! Looking forward to meeting you finally at the starting line after all of this time!

It's almost Tues. AM...which means only a little over 4 days until we will be waking and getting ready to head to the start line in the wee hours of the morning. I cannot wait!

I was tweaking a bit today, but not about the marathon...about a trail relay I am doing in 3.5 weeks. I'm team captain and 2 of my members are really slacking-off and claiming they didn't know how many miles they are responsible for. I wish they'd drop out, since we shouldn't have trouble finding replacements.

Yeah, I've been following the thread in Michiganders. Hopefully they'll sort it out. They have a few weeks to get going and get their act together!
