Everyone has a price. Most people can pretend they don't, that they're better than that, but most people have never seen more than a few thousand dollars in cash. Some people live their whole lives and never see more than a couple hundred in actual bills; the rest is just numbers on a screen. Everyone has a price. Mine starts at $250,000. ( Read more... )

I really like that bossman. Would like to read more.

Long time no speak, glad to see things are going well.

Johnd!

Hopefully there'll be more as things progress. I sat down to write a dystopian piece about robots and got a hitman instead. We'll see where it goes; I'll post more as it comes.

I wanna see more. I like the swagger of the narrator, but I want more about who he is, what he looks like, the place where he is, etc.

Me too. The odd thing is that I sat down to write a little piece about a futuristic Galatea (or, The Postmodern Prometheus), and this is what came out. I like the idea, but it has to simmer a while to thicken up.

What I know so far is that the killer has been doing it since his teens, is surprisingly amicable for a hitman, and fights constantly to suppress his conscience. He's a close associate of Francesco "Frankie" Moretti, the most notorious gangster since Al Capone.
I'm still waiting to find out the rest.
