The Great Southwest Road Trip - Amarillo to Albuquerque

So early Monday morning the 28th I left Michael's before sunrise as he was headed to the office early and I really wanted to hit the road  while there was very little traffic on the road. Well, I did make an A in Physical Geology when I was a student at Brookhaven College a couple years ago. Knowing what I know now, I really should have studied Geosciences to begin with.

I saw it the first time in 1982, but it was a drive by with no stop. The next time I saw it was in 1999 when I stopped in Amarillo on the way to Colorado to see the folks and sing in Denver with Turtle Creek Chorale. People have pretty much ripped every car part off that they could and it shows. The cars are deteriorating as well and since the man who commissioned this as an art installation is now deceased, there is some concern that his heirs will not maintain it properly.
