I hear you brother. I do Systems managment but havnt done any real hands on for a while and anything I have is old and out of date, feeling like a fossil. IT is such stress too and I don't like that. I have considered seeing a career counselor to get ideas about what else I can do. If I can gather any good info for you I will pass it your way.

I just made a date with a recruiter friend to help me figure out what I should go for next. :) Kinda like a counselor. ;)

I took a career search class at Colorado Free Uni. Included lots of various tests - personality, skill, interests, Myers Briggs, etc, and a one-on-one with the career counselor. Very helpful!

Not sure what your qualifications and interests are, but DU is fairly decent to work for. Pay can be skimpy, but good benes. I suggest looking under staff posisions, particularly on the last page for IT jobs.

Sorry you lost your job. But at least I'll feel safer knowing you're no longer tracking my ass.

Good luck on the job hunt.

Skimpy pay? Like strippers handing out the paychecks?

No strippers. Not unless you count the IRS and what they do to my check every two weeks.

I know exactly what POS is, anyone who has ever worked in a restaurant usually does. And yeah, it's totally referred to as POS in the not so nice terms.

I don't know anything that offers a job in that though...
Yeah, I'm a whole lot of help.

You could always be an installer for us.

Well, that is something we do, but very rarely. We actually wire all the outlets, phone lines, and cable lines in new homes being built. If a customer gets an upgrade an adds say acentral vac system, or a home theatre system, or a security system then you'll do some of that extra stuff.

Our guys make anywhere from $500-$1000+ in one week depending on how busy we are and what they can handle.

That doesn't at all fit in with your dream though, you cant really be artistic with wiring low volt in a new home...

;P

Any ideas yet?

I think this is a great opportunity for you to do something you're at least remotely interested in doing. Is there some job related to painting or art that you would enjoy more than being an office monkey?

It seems both you and Tammy are going to get a job makeover. ha!

Yeah, a makeover would be nice. ;)

There is no job relating to art that will pay the mortgage. At least that I'm aware of.

Guess I'll have to start hookin'. ;)

How about getting involved in the porn industry? :P

Ya know.. When we moved to LA a few years ago that was Tammy's one and only rule.

I could not work in porn. Not anywhere near it.
