Meh? Surely the landlord's insurance should cover that?

No, apparently landlords aren't required to insure their own property when rented.

I rang the letting agency and have since found out that although the letter implied that we had to have accidental damage it is not actually a requirement. I still have to sort out new insurance though, I hate hunting for deals.
