I had a call from a phone scammer today, telling me I had a Trojan on my PC.
Apparently, 'the server' informed them of the problem. I asked which server and he said 'the world wide web' at which point I ended the call. He immediately rang me back and I told him I wasn't interested and rang off again.
Yet again, he called me back and I told him to stop calling me. Next time, I left the phone ringing for about five minutes but it didn't stop. So I picked it up but said nothing. After a couple of 'hello's from the other end the call was terminated.
However, he rang again immediately. Once again, I picked it up and didn't speak. He said 'I know you're there' and rang off again, only to call back straight away. By this time, I was rather fed up with him so I decided on a different tactic.
I opened up the music app on my mobile phone, placed it next to the landline phone and played him 'Together in Electric Dreams'. At the end of the song, I checked back but he had gone. I was a bit disappointed because I had 'Uptown Top Ranking' lined up to play next - I think he would have liked it.
He hasn't rung back since.
