This is fascinating. I always assumed that all the Avengers had their own comics from the beginning, probably because they've all had their own movies from the beginning...
I like Captain America. He's so square.
I am still very curious about this Maria Hill person.
I am really loving your synopses and I am learning so much! (I think we've come full circle here.) You really should take these and post them over at TDF, too. They're fantastic!
I really haven't been putting the pieces together with the Marvel Movieverse, just sort of seeing them as stand-alones, so I really appreciate you connecting the dots for me. As for DC stuff, I'd LIKE to get into them more (since there's less and less Marvel that interests me right now) but I just don't know where to start!
I feel like, besides Ant-Man and the Wasp having lulzy powers, the fact that hardcore comic fans know that their relationship went to domestic abuse eventually, seeing them all lovey dovey in an Avengers movie would feel uncomfortable.
I totally get that. When I watch the cartoon now, he's all "I dont' want to fight; I want to save the world" blah blah and I'm rolling my eyes and rooting for Jan to ditch him.
ETA: And then when Ultron comes along and I'm like "Haha that's what you get!" Not really the reaction you want for your hero.

Joss Whedon is always in charge.

I'm super proud that I've managed to say anything you didn't already know about not DC comics!
