That looks like it would be a really interesting experience for the actors. I'm not sure if I could have real sex with another actor in a role. I mean, if an actor's mom goes to see it, they will have to actually see their child having sex!
They weren't random actors, everyone that was cast was already a couple that answered a newspaper add to be in a sex-positive film.
They started with the actors first, then they collaborated with everyone on writing a script, with the emphasis not on sex, but a story about relationships and sexuality (with unsimulated sex, of course)
I have to admit I cried. The story goes that the main character is a sex therapist that has never had an orgasm and her husband who believes it's his fault; and how their relationship suffers, a gay couple that decide to share their monogamous relationship with a third person, and a woman who is afraid to have any human connection with a partner and becomes a Dominatrix to cover up her sorrow. The ending is very very uplifting. New York is an extremely lonely place, even though millions of people live there within 300 square blocks...
If you have NetFlicks you can rent it - it will never EVER be at blockbuster. When they say "Not Rated" - they MEAN it.
