My mom replied to the e-mail I sent her.
Alison, I am very happy you were able to help this family. It does give
you a good feeling when you can ease someones fears or be there to talk to
them. I know I feel a great deal of satisfaction from helping people.
sorry I didnt get up to make you dinner, I thought you had already eaten
when you didn't come home for awhile. I do believe people connect
accidentally (no pun intended) and it can have a profound effect on a
life. God or no God, life has some interesting and unexplainable twists
and turns that at times can change lifes hopefully for the better. I
wouldn't dwelll on why you came upon this but instead take the satifaction
you hopefully recieved from it and use it when you feel a little down. Im
proud that you were able to help in this situation when so many others
didn't. Your life has a purpose and if you live in it, like you did last
night, you can find some great rewards. :)
I slept pretty much all day. I fell asleep around 6 or 7 this morning. I finally got around to listening to Jay Severin, and honestly, I'm not impressed... I thought that going national would be awesome for Jay and his, uh, schtick... I guess I'm basically hating the type of people who call in.
Angry Caller:"Your first call from my area was from a 14 year old."
Jay: "Do you know this because you're dating her?"
AC:"And your show sucks, you... you mushmouth! It's got the attention span of a shrew!"
Jay: "Do I need to call the District Attorney on you?"
**dead air**
I'm taking this journaling project pretty seriously... maybe a little too serious. I'll have to scan and post some of the pages, I'm impressed with how it's turning out so far, lots of rubber cement and chicken scratch. I see it going one of two ways: GOOD or BAD.
I'm mentally going over my "list of IRL friends" who might want to live in Southern Nashua with me and my cat (possibly a second cat as well). Everyone I know who has moved out moved near Boston or elsewhere and are stuck in leases. I'm kind of leery of the whole roommates.com thing, and most of my college friends are probably instantly off the list. Two or three people, two or three bedrooms, trying to keep the rent under $600 a month. I'm also entertaining the studio idea, that's probably the best thing I can do right now.
But first I need to find a job, and the best stuff I can find is all part-time retail. The good news is that I can still go to school part-time while I do that, but school is going to cost a lot more money than I can really afford if I'm working part-time and trying to hold down the fort, so to speak. If I could work 40 a week even for just $8, I could make a comfortable living (rent, utilities, money away for emergencies and vet bills, what not). Wow, I am so ambitious!!!
I don't get why I can't seem to find a job though; even retail places aren't really calling me back.
