"How is he doing?" Luke feels himself tense at the sound of his mother's voice. Please don't let her get all emotional now, he thinks. Damn, give Lily a break, she did just lose a son- but she's holding her own.

Holden's hand moves from Luke's shoulder to his hair when he feels the muscles tense and starts scratching his fingertips through Luke's hair. It was something he used to do for hours when Luke was small and wouldn't calm down enough to sleep. "As well as he can, considering." Holden is the best dad evah.... like evah.

Luke's pain is killing me, you know Noah isn't dead- but damn, this shit is sad.
