It's been a while since I last posted. I haven't been up to too much, just enjoying the summer weather and doing nothing, basically. I've been driving a considerable amount because my drivers test is in two days and counting. O_O ( Read more... )

I didn't much mind that there wasn't an interaction b/w voldemort and harry; but I really didn't like her development of the relationships. harry/ginny, and lupin/tonks: I don't mind the pairings themselves, it just wasn't plausible for me when I was reading. they just suddenly popped out of nowhere.

And, wtf!? does she think that teenagers are like? I mean, I don't think any guy, even with excess hormones, would be like harry and his beast lol. at least I hope not o_O

despite my complaining I thought it was good, too. 'not as fulfilling'? I thought it was much better than OotP.

regarding the wedding schtick, well. haha we're going to be playing like 3 minutes tops and then we'll have nothing to do during everything else. and sorry for nitpicking but 'cannon in d' lol!

Not my fault, the file was mislabeled, the program just records what's playing at the time. So ha! :-)

An orchestral version of a fairly modern song?

Could you let me borrow that once school resumes?
Perhaps I could let you borrow my string quartet version of Linkin Park : )

Good books, with a distinct fantasy flair, because that's what I like to read. =P ayakitsune July 27 2005, 23:45:32 UTC
Patricia A McKillip writes some of the most flowing language and amazing stories I know. They may not be your thing but she's my favorite author. Personal favorite books of hers include Song for the Basilisk, Winter Rois, The Book of Atrixe Wolfe, and In the Forests of Serre. Her books are annoyingly hard to find in libraries. And let's face it, Vestal Public sucks ( ... )

Battle Royale by Koushun Takami. I adore that book beyond words. It's supposed to be a wonderful live action movie (I haven't seen it yet but not for lack of trying) that has more blood and gore than most other movies put together (the gore has been compared to Ichi the Killer). Filled with murdered Japanese high school students and uh, demented dictators.

hrm don't really know your taste, but here's a shot loonieyoonie July 28 2005, 01:08:39 UTC
you still haven't read jane eyre, I bet :D so go do it. It is ten kinds of awesome. Right now I am reading Of Human Bondage, which is a little slow but pretty good. Hamlet, you should most def. read if you haven't yet (and then if you do, read Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead (Tom Stoppard)). The Picture of Dorian Gray was beautifully written, if not my cup of tea; when I talked to Kristen at Bartle before, she recommended The Awakening and Love in a Time of Cholera (this one for mah-ture readers only o_O...she cautioned me...).
