The science of it is cell phones, laptops, pagers...anything that can or might send out or recieve a signal. On many airlines I've flown on they say "no electronic devices of any kind during take off" and on those flights I behave and don't take pics and don't listen to my MP3player. On *that* flight, they said "no cell phones, pagers, laptops or bluetooth" and said nothing about MP3 players or cameras. So I went ahead and filmed.
I've done a bit of looking into this issue, and if you want to hear the rest of what I've discovered about this, I can go on.
I knew the bit about devices sending signals, it's just that every flight I've been on they've said that absolutely all electronic devices had to be off. So I see how it worked for you on that particular flight.

Though I thought you couldn't use any electronic devices during takeoff and landing, including MP3 players and cameras. Or is it just cellphones?
