my friends in toronto invited me to this big singles new year's party. tickets are over 100 bucks, for food and dancing for a few hours, and possibly hooking up with a hawtie.
i don't have anything to do for new year's either but i second your BYOB idea. which reminds me...i was watching a national geographic show on this prison, hosted by lisa ling from the view. the portrayal of it was contradictory. it was about how the prison is in the chaotic state of nature. yet there were so many rules, schedules, searches by the guards. during one of the searches, they found 15 apples in one cell, and they were like, nope! they're only allowed 2 or 3. apparently the inmates use apples, sugar, and bread to make alcohol, and it's VERY intoxicating, according to the guard.
During the xmas holidays, I ran out of bread. So I used flour, yeast and water to make my own bread. It was really delicious! However I must warn you, if you want to try that. One loaf turned out really good, almost like the ones you buy in bakeries, but the other... Let's just say, I know one of Mary Shelly's sources of inspiration now. ;) BYOB(wc)- Bake your own bread(with care)
