I'll be blunt: I'm writing this to convince my buddies living in Korea to go to
Let's Rock Festival with me. If you're not in Korea, sucks to be you (jk send Cadbury), but hey you can still check out these pretty boys wearing eyeliner songs!
Basic details:
September 14-15 (Sat/Sun) in Mapo-gu (not too far! No need to book accommodation, just keep an eye on your last train/bus)
59,000won for 1 day/88,000won for 2 days (so cheap compared to the other music festivals going on this summer!)
The Bands:
Obviously this is the most important bit. I'm not gonna go through all of them, just my top 4 for each day. If you wanna see the full lineup, go to the website above.
SATURDAY
1. Nell (넬)
Oh look, I found another excuse to talk about Nell! They came to Rainbow Fest, but I didn't get to see them because their set was late Sunday night. If that happens again I might actually cry, but I'll make sure to wait until after I'm away from hordes of people.
Nell's music varies a lot: upbeat, haunting, indie-rock, mellow... This is "Ocean of Light," one their lively songs, and halfway through the MV there are pretty boys jamming in the faux-rain so why am I even still talking, it's time to go full-screen 1080p.

2. Monni (몽니)
I only started listening to this group a month or two ago, but they've grown on me quickly. Bonus points for having a lady rocker in the group. This is "더는 사랑노래 못 쓰겠다," meaning "Can't write a love song anymore."

3. The Solutions (솔루션스)
I first heard them on Youtube, then became a proper fan at Rainbow Fest, and I'm itching to see them again. Funnily enough, I've had the chorus to this song in my head for the past few days, but I couldn't remember who sang it til I went through all my Solutions songs! This one's called "Otherside" and is all in "English."

4. Fantastic Drugstore (판타스틱드럭스토어)
I don't know these guys very well, but judging from this song I should get to know them better. Here's "아저씨"/"Ahjeosshi."

SUNDAY
1. Peppertones (페퍼톤스)
I think a certain someone would stop being my friend if I didn't mention Peppertones here. Maybe I'll try to learn the words to this chorus to get some brownie points? ;D This is "21세기의 어떤 날" (One Day In The 21st Century).

2. No Brain (노브레인)
I'm not that familiar with this rock group, but they seem like weirdos so I'll probably like them. Here's the MV for "Necktie."

3. Thornapple (쏜애플)
These guys remind me of some of my favourite western rock bands, but I haven't seen them live yet. This is "너의 무리."

4. Pia (피아)
I dunno why Pia is mentioned so far down the lineup. They're one of the more mature, established rock bands, dating back to the late '90s if I'm translating corre. They're also one of the most hard-core rock/screamo Korean bands I've ever stumbled upon, which you'll see a bit of in this live version of "Pipe Boy."

Have I convinced you yet? Embrace your not-so-inner screaming fangirl/fanboy. I'll be buying my tickets August 10, so if you want me to hook you up just let me know. Hope to see you there!
