So since the move, I've been casting covetous glances at the used bookstore not too far from here. Very close by the old mountain standards: only about ten minutes, a little over. It just hasn't been on the way to anywhere, so it took me a while to go visit.

I read Catch-22 back in high school, fortunately enough. I liked it so much I eventually named a sociopathic chimera/musician "Heller" in a modern-horror game.

Thursday is the best book I've ever read to use one of the worst literary devices ever. It's forgivable because the language is just so fantastic. I think the middle... how can I express this in scale? The 65-90 part of the book (if it begins at 0 and the final line is at 100) is maybe not quite as strong as the opening because the recurring gimmick is by now very predictable, but the ending picks up and becomes nicely intense, and then argh. (But I forgive him the argh ( ... )
