GPT4 is smart enough to read and write.
But it is not smart enough to think.

If the problem was already solved and published - it can write this solution.
If the problem was not solved&published yet - GPT is unlikely to solve it.

So yes, some of the jobs will be replaced by GPT4 or similar technology. But only low-level jobs.

The atmosphere was not set on fire.
Nuclear development stagnated.

GPT is likely to significantly progress in the near future, but we should not expect miracles.
