In a very amusing way. He gave me a recent trade paperback for my birthday - so recent that I didn't know it was out yet. And because I stop by the store Saturdays, and my birthday wasn't till Monday ... he took their other copies off the shelves and hid them till after I came in, so I wouldn't know it was out till he handed me a copy.
