I'm still awake mainly because Tree has an interview at 6 am, and wanted insurance on his waking up for said interview. In the mean time, he's still got his current temp job, which is happily paying our car and storage payments, yay ( Read more... )

Silly question, but what kind of work are you looking for?

Network (severely hampered by lack of a degree and lack of Windows network-admin experience), followed by data entry, followed by whatever-I-can-get.

This is also hampered by the fact that I have no transportation at the moment - husband got a job first, so *he* gets the car. Thus the reconcentration on school, which will serve instead of a job temporarily, particularly if Tree's interview today goes well.

Well, I know ClientLogic is still hiring and it's along a major bus route (on Hertel just past Elmwood). All the tech support camppaigns are open 24X7.

Yeah, it's phone work and it's only about $8/hr, but if you work full time you get benefits and names like Sony and UOL don't look bad on a resume.

Adelphia is also hiring and I hear they have a better benefits package, but I'm not sure where it is.

Computers, oh yes. Network engineering has won my heart; it's a job I *actually enjoy*, which despite the rest of my family being ridiculously happy with what they're doing and my mom's job practically being her hobby too, I'd pretty much given up on finding.

So, a semester of night classes to prove to the university that I didn't get my brains removed in California - programming if there's still space, if not, seeing if I can get into certification classes for systems-analysis stuff or retake the intermediate LAN class since they've updated it considerably since I tok it before; if *all* of those are taken, Mom and I were joking about my taking accounting classes just to fill space.

Then I'll try to get back into the CompSci department for spring semester.

Heh, here's a lurker. Yellow, loves Willows, all kinds of Trees, and keeps black cats. Great vacation home or rest stop. *grins*
