In approximately 49 hours and 50 minutes I will be on the table in the surgical suite where I will acquire a new colon and may shed my ileostomy. The prospect of no more ileostomy depends on the amount of inflammation present in the small piece of my colon and the surgeons ability to make a watertight pouch.
