Setting
The living room of the apartment, which is what you walk directly into when you open the front door. Tamara walks in the front door, holding a sock.
TAMARA: Hey, Kiyoshi. You dropped your -
(Tamara breaks off and stared at Kiyoshi and Christy, who are busily rearranging their clothes.)
KIYOSHI (angrily): Didn’t you see the sock on the doorknob? You’re supposed to go see a movie or get something to eat or something!
TAMARA: It wasn’t on the doorknob.
KIYOSHI: I put it on the doorknob myself! How dare you just barge in like that?
TAMARA: How dare I? How dare I?! Have you forgotten whose apartment this is? Have you forgotten who is unofficially subleasing from whom? You’re not even on the lease, and I could have you evicted tomorrow if I wanted!
KIYOSHI: I’m not talking about the lease, I’m talking about privacy and respect. I hung a sock on the doorknob.
TAMARA (mimicking him): And I found a sock on the floor at the top of the stairs. I thought you dropped it coming back from the laundromat. (drops the mimicry) If you want privacy, use your bedroom! Iolanthe, we just bought that couch!
CHRISTY TONOYANGA (edging towards the door): I’m just going to, um…
TAMARA and KIYOSHI (in chorus, while glaring at each other): Bye, Christy.
