Where are you going in Italy? This time I went to Rome, Florence and Pisa. Last time I went I visited the same places and Venice. Rome is absolutly amazing. We had an awsome tour guide. I am not sure who, we set in up through the cruise that we were on. We went into the colloseum. Last time I didn't go in. I definatly recomend going in and haveing a tour, or reading up on it's history, so you know what you are looking at. We also went through all the other ruins with a lot of details given. We went to the Vatican. Note that when you go there, you cannot show your knees, shoulders or Clevage. To get into the Bacillica there, I had capri and a tank top, but I put on a cover up. I shawl would have worked perfect. you go through securtiy and then dress code security. But it will not be roasting hot when you go. We didnt' go in the sistein chaple this time but I have been in before. I thought that was pretty neat. Rome you will need a mode of trasportation, or have a tour. It is to big of a city. They have busses that ( ... )

Thanks for the info! I've been to Venice and Verona and Stressa before. This time I think we are doing mostly Florence and Rome. I'm hoping the lines for the museums are pretty short since it'll be winter time. Cant wait to see some pictures :)

What cruiseline did you use? My mom really wants to do Europe by cruise

We did Royal Carribean. But I would never see Europe by Cruise again. It did seem that most people on the cruise were first timers and really enjoyed it. I mean, they got some of the most knowlagable tour guids, but I didn't like that you only had a few hours in Florence. Like 3 in florence (no time for museums), and about 6 in Rome. It is mostly because they are not real close to the seaports. Maybe it was also Cuz I had been there before and had more of an idea what I wanted to see, and couldn't because I didt'n have enough time. I think next time we are going to use the train to get from place to place.

I imagine it would be very appealing to the right person. I also get seasick, and didn't like being on the boat because I was always sick.
