There's a great episode of the Simpsons (it's the 22nd episode of Season 9, according to Wikipedia) where Homer strives to become Springfield's sanitation commissioner. Ha, that Simpson's episode is horribly accurate! I agree things are looking very dark, although there are a couple of silver linings on the cloud. In a few year's time the British government will no longer be able to blame everything bad on "EU regulations" (ignoring the fact that we've always had power of veto). Plus apparently far more young people voted to stay in the EU, which gives me hope for the future. It seems that Brexiting is a baby boomer thing - and I really don't know what excuse they've got for forgetting the teachings of WW2 so quickly - but at least the younger generation are aware, if not of the past, then at least of the blooming present ( ... )

I've been trying to keep up with the situation over there as much as possible, because the US could be knee deep in similar if not worse soon.

Thanks for writing this, helped me understand a bit more of the whole situation.
