OOC: Dream

May 16, 2009 16:20

This wasn't so bad.

The room was quiet, clean. A locked door, and the one window had bars. Only to be expected. It was pure white, from the small bed in the corner to the windowsill. The few things that weren't were the books he'd been allowed to bring, the rose in a vase, and himself.

He was sitting by the window, absently unfocused on everything. It was so peaceful here, such a stark contrast to his life before. The wall was cool and smooth, but somehow comfortable. Movement caught his eye, and he pushed up his glasses to see what it was. It was a crimson butterfly that had slipped throught the bars. It flew over to him, hovered for a second, then flew to the rose.

He looked outside. The moon was out, and the color of night filled the sky. He looked back at the butterfly. "Why are you up so late?" he murmured, then smiled. How human of him. The times of day were reversed here. The butterfly stirred, and went to land on an open book. He walked over to it, to read the words it had landed on. They were quite familiar, and as he read them the smile did not fade.

Juliet: Good night, good night. Parting is such sweet sorrow/That I shall say "Good night" till it be morrow.

The butterfly flew up in front of him. Tenitavely, he raised his hand, and the butterfly landed on it. He slowly sat down. leaning against the wall. It still stayed, only lazily opening and closing its wings twice. The serenity he felt from such a simple act astounded him. So peaceful...quiet....safe....

He shut his eyes.
