Entry #01 - Introduction

Jul 05, 2009 00:25

While the idea of keeping a personal journal is laudable in theory, I've never really found it to my taste. As I would prefer to be accessible if needed, however, I will do my best to keep this updated; I don't intend to give out my phone number to the student population in general ( Read more... )

What does that have to do with introductions and contact information?

Technically, it's your job to be a good example of emotional health, social bonding, and moral integrity; my job's idea of being a good example would probably fall more along the lines of being professional and efficient, which was the point of this entry.

.....But if it helps, I do appreciate the gesture.

A new Business teacher, hmm? I imagine I'll see a good deal of you in future, then. My name is Hyuuga. Perhaps you've heard of my family.

Why on earth would you be interested in acting as advisor for that ridiculous Club?

I'll be looking forward to it then, Mr. Hyuuga; I have indeed heard of your family.

The Host Club is an excellent training grounds for students to network and form valuable social connections, and gain both fundamental skills and practical experience in working with a business; small though it may be, the club does earn money. As I'm sure you know, a much more thorough understanding of a subject can be reached when theory is supplemented by practice.

He hates it when people say it in irrefutable business terms. XD gentle_strike July 5 2009, 08:43:24 UTC
Be that as it may, do you not think the members should be advised in some way that a business such as this would be frowned upon in any other working environment? Surely you agree there has to be some degree of honorable reputation.

I bet they both know how good it is to get the upper hand with that kind of rock-solid reasoning. XD esotericstoic July 5 2009, 09:01:17 UTC
Are you familiar with the role of the geisha in Japan, Mr. Hyuuga? Traditionally, they are expected to be skilled, high-quality, high-class entertainers with a variety of talents; none of their duties, performed properly, are themselves disreputable.

Hosts and hostesses occupy a similar role in Sinclair Academy. I do agree that an honorable reputation is important to maintain, and that is why faculty serve as advisors to begin with; those of us in such a position are charged with ensuring that standards of morality and integrity are adhered to by all involved in the club.

So you are going to join me next year? Why, I'm honored.

I'm looking very forward to working with you as well, Sasuke-kun. I hope I'll be able to teach you a great deal.

It's super effective. T.T thischangingone July 6 2009, 03:39:39 UTC
It's not like I had much choice.

I doubt that you have much to teach that would be worthwhile, but it might be worth it to see you try. And fail.

I'm sorry to hear that; I had hoped you would have chosen it yourself, since you did seem to be so looking forward to it just now.

Now that remains to be seen, Sasuke-kun. But I will try, you have my word on that. Since when have I failed in anything?

[Aren't honorifics fun~? It's not often there's such a good way to be intentionally distancing, too close, and just a little bit patronizing at the same time. Such a shame he's the sort to only pull them out for family use....]

You don't sound like Obito at all. But I suppose asking if you're as batshit insane as he is, is necessary. Especially since you'll be teaching that thing I'm supposed to learn more about.

You'll find that Obito and I have very different approaches to things, yes. And no, I am not; even if either of us were crazy, I would certainly be a different flavor of madness. But if you are going to be in my class, you'll find out what I'm like anyway, won't you? I hope I won't disappoint.

I take it something happened involving Obito to made you doubt his sanity?

He's your cousin. I'm sure you're well aware that nothing specific has to happen for him to act...like a fucking idiot. He is amusing though.

Madmen and fools are very different things....

But that being said, I understand your point. I am glad that he amuses you rather than irritates you, at least.
