05. Video [Malice'd!]

[And yet another clang. But this time, a purposeful one. Jin is throwing the communicator against the wall this time. As it switches to video, not much can be heard or seen save for Jin’s hurried footsteps around the room]

--there isn’t-

[And then there it is. A glimpse of a shove, a woman’s outraged cry, things being knocked left and right.

[ Clow was walking somewhere between the Horton building and the hospital, on his way to visit Yuuko. He had a bottle of wine hidden in a bag under one arm, and a broom in the other hand.

One couldn't really call him unsuspecting, but it was such a short walk! The chances of running into anything seriously dangerous were pretty slim, he thought. ]

[Unfortunately, Clow thought wrong. Not only were there the regular monsters to worry about, but with the Malice disease going around, one had to be wary of the Maliced people-turned-monsters.

Kind of like the one that might be lurking quite nearby.]

[ Well, this is not to say that he isn't on his guard. He thinks he sees some sort of shadow move funny just around the corner of that building over there, and it's weird enough that it makes him stop and stare until he can figure out if it's friend or foe. In moments like this, he misses the ability to cheat, to use his second sight to at least tell whether or not what he's looking at is dangerous.

What is that, there, in the shadows? ]

[Careful, Clow. Even the slightest hesitation in such times can be dangerous. Jin crept--or rather, slithered past a street corner, taking his time to look at his surroundings. Unimaginable and of course, unexplainable rage bubbled beneath the surface, waiting to be let out.

If Clow happens to look closely, he might just see a pair of eyes peering at him from the shadows.]

[Perhaps this wasn't the best idea, to be out on his own, even armed and able to fight or not, even though he was trying to be stealthy and avoid the notice of as many monsters as he could. But Tatsuya was very good at doing incredibly stupid shit.]

[Bad idea or no, it was too late to turn back now, wasn't it? Jin, slithered past a few building, overturning a few crumbled things here and there with a loud crash.]

[that noise, like scales on the pavement. Tatsuya draws his sword as silently as he can and ducks further into shadow, trying to listen for where it was coming from in relation to his position. Better to be ready to fight then to be surprised.]

[Jin moves closer, faster than anyone would think for a creature his size. Round a corner here, cut across the rubble there and--

There he stands, out in open for anyone nearby to see. A hiss escapes the large, reptilian mouth as he looks everywhich way.

**Riou was out for the second patrol for the day. Ever since his sister had disapproved of him arresting the culprits for all this chaos, he'd been avoiding her a bit, still upset.**

**But, still, it's not as though he were fully unprepared for what might come after him but, he thought crossing through the park might just be a shortcut.**

[After his previous encounters, Jin was a bit more wary. And perhaps, even a little more dangerous. He moved without hesitation through the park, curving around the trees and onto the path that was commonly used. Of course with the speed he was currently moving at, it was rather hard for himself to stop himself (if he even would) and he barreled straight into Riou]

**Riou noticed something of that size coming toward him. He'd heard there were giant monsters in the lake, and figured, perhaps, this one was just a stray. Even still, it was something dangerous coming at him suddenly.

Riou only managed to defend himself with his tonfa as he was overrun. Riou rolled to the side, huffing as he brought himself back to his feet**

[He wrapped his tail around a nearby tree, pulling himself upright with a hiss. Riou being in his way had only made him angrier and instinctively, he lashed out again.

He reached out with his claw, intending to grab onto the smaller human]

[She had run out after him, despite that he'd hit her. It hurt and there'd be bruises later on, but right now she needed to make sure nothing happened to him. Fuu knew Jin and she knew that this wasn't something she could control. It was that sickness doing this to him.

That's why she had to stop him. She couldn't-wouldn't kill him, but she couldn't let him hurt anyone else either.]

Jin! Come back!

[She shouted after him, trying her best to keep up.]

[This wasn't good. This was not good at all. Why was she following him? There had been a reason he'd left after all. He stopped in his tracks, hand covering the strange oily, almost scaly rash that had sprung up on his arm.]

Fuu! Leave me alone!

[He quickly turned back on his heel and continued to storm away]

You can't-It isn't safe out there!

[She chased after him, unsure what she should say or do to make him come back. What if he hurt someone, or worse, someone got to him?]

Jin, please!

[Jin continued running, paying no attention to Fuu's words. His vision was swimming, but he continued moving as fast as he could]

Fuu, what did I say? Go back!

[He stumbled slightly before reaching for his Katana. Oh yea, he meant business.]
