So, because Yami no Matsuei is wonderfully shiny and magical, here's an explanation of Hisoka's powers and of the powers he got when he became a Shinigami.

Don't shinigami pretty much always stay tangible when on a job, though. So it's not like the majority of the camp won't be seeing him on a regular basis...?

I think the spirit form is not tangible, at least in the manga. I remember the mangaka's notes pointing inconsistencies like "You can fly, y'know?" when Tsuzuki is chasing something.

So maybe they are sometimes tangible?

And he doesn't smile even once in the manga, maybe you could tamper with Hijiri if there is ever the need of a happy Hisoka.
