Very intense. I, too, have never read Terra this way before, but I was thinking if she did not have to face the esper side of herself, if she was put into a "comfortable" box where she could lose herself in lies, I could see her going this way. Subdued, given structure and purpose without having to question it. Yep, I could see her taking refuge in orders that quench her pain. Sort of. Killing Locke, I mean.
