So I wrote that paper. The big one. The symposium one. It ended up four pages longer than it was suppose to be. And that was okay. My teacher gave me a 110%, and told me that I had a career. Cool. He wants me to go for it. The symposium. That is. If I do it his way. Sort of ( Read more... )

Hearts just get sore sometimes. They do that. The way clocks run out of batteries; the way light bulbs tend to blow now and again when you turn them on.

I love this line so much right now. I agree with it. Thank you for writing it.

They say that what attracts you most in a person also annoys you the most. Maybe there's some truth in that.

Congratulations, and best of luck with your academic journey. I hope you get to follow your vision as closely as possible, it sounds fascinating. I am new to academic writing on religion, and all the technicalities of what gets published and all that. Even if you wind up going in a different direction, at least the experience of knowing her can make for some great creative pieces, and can infuse the paper even if it's not directly about her.

ok, this isn't cool. i haven't seen you in forever. i miss you like H, E, double hockey sticks.
and I absolutely love those last three sentences. hearts do get sore. and sometimes they soar.
