Dear simplecity2htwn

Please do not be mad at me. When I make my post later on today, you will understand why I ask that of you. Okay, off to class to go torture teach students about lab safety and why they can't wear their pretty peep-toed heels in microbiology lab when the weather gets warm.

Girl please. I teach at an HBCU. Wearing pretty shoes to class is damn near mandatory. Haven't you ever spent time girl-watching at Howard? *lol*

Truthfully, I think that you should tell them once and then not make a big deal about it. Eventually somebody will spill something on a foot and end up with a chemical burn. THAT will serve as a good enough lesson for the remainder of the semester.

Naw, we don't deal with enough chemicals that burn in microbiology lab. I just tell them that if I see it, I'm kicking them out and they get marked absent (and there's no make-up lab).
