I watched the pilot, but was kinda disappointed. I was (mostly) a fan of The O.C., and even with the most idiotically melodramatic plotlines, the writers could usually manage a couple clever lines of dialogue. Considering this pilot was written by Josh Schwartz & Stephanie Savage, I was expecting more in terms of defining the characters and giving them distinctive voices. I realize they're adapting a book and so have to work with rather stereotypical characters, but nothing really stood out. It was all sort of blah. There were the good kids we're supposed to like, and the bad kids we weren't. Ok, thanks show.
Basically watching it just made me sad that Skins isn't coming back until January.
I may catch a few more episodes, see if it gets any better, but it's not high on my list.
