According to my sources, MTV is making a Laguna-Beach-like series based upon a certain New York high school--Brooklyn Tech.

That's right, it's official--McCaskill is gone, Tech is getting its own MTV reality show--the Class of 2005 missed out on everything. We lost, guys. That's it. Over.

Dude that'd get mad annoying real quick. Like for a while I'm sure it'd be cool like "oh yeah, that kid in my chem class was on TV", but before long it'd just be lots of camera crews congesting the hallways and inconveniencing the rest of the student body for certain opportunity shots.

Unless you were part of the cadre of kids they were following. Then, yes, you could've been catapulted into middling semi-fame, only to simmering into obscurity a year later, rather than just staying obscure the whole way through.

It's all kids 2 years or more behind me. I only know 2 kids from those years. I'd better become friends with them again real fast if they make it onto the show.

I don't think the show is Tech-specific, but they happen to be recruiting at Tech (first). And you may want to check www.bthsnews.org rather than citing mysterious "sources."

Apparently the producer is an alumnus of Tech, so it's highly conceivable that Tech is the only school considered--it's certainly a large enough pool of kids. EVERY type of entertaining kid you could think of goes to tech, anyway. Remember "Eight Feet of Comedy?" I loved that kid.
