Genetics in HP

As expected, Remus and Tonks got a cub, Teddy. Now what surprises me is that he's not a werewolf. Either his parents were lucky or I read too many fanfics with such a plot.
If we imagine that werewolf-ness (I like words in -ness) is caused by the mutation of a gene, then it must mean that Teddy has it as a recessive gene. If we consider that Bill ( Read more... )

The Weasley gene is particulary dominant - as an entire family of redheads can attest to. So freckles all the way!!!
(And freckles are way too cute, she had to have them!)

Thanks! I definitely hope so too. And since we probably will never know, let's just pretend it is!

As a scientist I applaud your deduction and logic, you should write a paper on wizarding genetics and the influence of the warewolf gene, t'would be jolly good.

Fantastic work!

Thanks! Do you think I could get published in a scientific paper? XD I'll get to invent words and pretend that they make sense, yay!

I think I remember reading in New Scientist or Scientific American about how some teachers were using Harry Potter and general wizarding genetics to teach kids, so honestly and seriously I can't see why not.

God I want to have had this kind of teachers. I've never slept as good as in Science class - even if I liked the subject. I would definitely be interested in reading a scientific paper about HP. I'm sure someone already did, at least somewhere on internet. *goes to try and find it*

No, see, the level of cuteness is what's just not right.

I don't mind that she's a mutant woofie baby who looks like a kitsune baby.

It's just that it's unreasonably cute. Too cute for this hour of the morning before I've even had breakfast.

Dangerous cuteness, you dig?
