This is a Harry Potter essay exchange community. It works the same as a fic or art exchange, you write something for someone else, they write something for you.

So informal poll cause this isn't a paid journal:Do you want to write ( Read more... )

Great Stuff.

Do you want to write:
I focus mainly on HP essays but I'm willing to try the other options too.

How should the write-recieve work?
1) pairs

Do you want to write in:
Any choice is fine.

In terms of prompts:
2) You all post prompts and claim prompts in the comments

I could help you mod. But truthfully, I've never done that before so you would need to show me the ropes.

I like open ended dates for essay completion. If the wait gets too ridiculous, I guess due dates can be required.

At the moment, I'll see how much work is really gonna be needed, and I'd prefer a mod who has done exchanges before cause I've never run or participated in one before. But if I get overwhelmed, you'll be first on my lost to bring on.

I definately don't want a date earlier than August, cause I won't have time before than cause of school, but I can leave it pretty open eneded.

Do you want to write
1. HP essays (in part because I'm not precisely sure what's meant by 'meta' in this context)

How should the write/receive work
Indifferent, I could do either

Do you want to write in
2. individually, very much please

In terms of prompts
2. Post & claim in the comments

For an additional, unasked-for $.02, I'd like to say that essays should be proofread/beta'd before being posted, to catch factual errors, silly mistakes, etc.

I've never done a fic exchange before, but I've watched a few, and I'd be happy to help mod.

I asked for suggestions, so your two cents are much appreciated. Once I've got more than three people (or it's been a few days an just us three) I'll post about format, so betaing will go there.

See my reply to Kaskait above. I'm just gonna hold off on taking on someone without previous experience until I see if I'm gonna need a mod. (Currently we've got two people besides me.)

Having never done anything like this before, can I watch for a bit or do you have to commit right away...I think I might be able to drag someone else along too, if you let me find my feet first.

It's fine if you wade, just you might have less of a choice of prompts then.

Meta is analysis of the fans, fan interactions, why/what people write, all that jazz.

You can probably find betas on the com.
