This will be kind of a pointy, ouchful gratitude, but there it is.

I'm grateful that, after over a decade of not seeing my mom's family, we got out there a couple of summers ago and got what turned out to be a last chance to see my grandparents relatively well.  I've just heard that Grandma is dying of respiratory and kidney failure.  She'd been

I'm so sorry to hear that :(. It does sound, though, that she had a very long and happy life, and a relatively peaceful death. Both my great-grandparents died in their early nineties, and though I was sad when they were gone, I definitely felt grateful that their lives were so full and happy and that they'd had each other for so long. Death is always bittersweet at the very, very least, but when you have to go, well, you hope it can be like this. Anyway, I'm sure you know all of this, was just symp/empathizing. MainlyI just wanted to send thoughts and prayers to you and your family.
