Day 29, Early afternoon
After Glass and Iago's altercation with Gaueko, I spent the evening and the whole of the next day setting up runes of protection on and around the Tavern. I don't like the idea of locking anyone out but by the same token, I'm vehemently opposed to any trouble or violence that I, myself, didn't start. And I'm rarely violent. It's my temple (liquor instead of well-water) and although I can't keep Iblis out, I can keep out anyone lesser than him though, even unfortunately Gaueko. I can't forget that he beat Glass, that he did it outside my Tavern and then hit Iago too.
Approaching Anushka's aged manor, I watch the bright sunlight filter through the leaves, making patterns across the grass. It's early still and Gaueko will not be at his full power but that doesn't mean he's weak. He's never been weak, and anyone foolish enough to underestimate him is in for a serious shock. But I'm not looking to fight, just talk and settle things. Maybe later, we'll be able to play. I have to stay on topic though and not let myself be distracted by him or Anushka although that's easier said than done.

Entering the open door (it's always open), I stand in the wind-swept threshhold, hesitant without knowing why. Pushing aside my reluctance, I step inside and call out a greeting. Hopefully, someone will be home.
