Hey! I have a few quick things about Japanese culture, and then if I have time I will post about my day yesterday. In about 40 mins though, the English teachers are I are going out to lunch for a farewell party!! :D I am so excited

Erasers

I agree, most American pencils are abhorrent... the erasers are nothing more than pieces of rubber stuck onto what is most often simply layers of paper wrapped around a sub-par stick of recycled graphite...
The best erasers I've seen on a pencil are those on the Korean pencils I have been given as gifts. However, kneaded erasers are even better. They erase almost perfectly and even go a long way to erase pen ink! On top of that, they're fun to play with!
