HAH! i've been to so good! ohhhh how i love new york. also, re: the thrift store thing: please explain to me how andy's cheap-ees sells $18 salvaton army tshirts. i mean, rad store, but badly named.
Annie wanted to go into Cheap-ees, but Shawn and I refused. It's such bullshit. I've always wanted to make/alter things and sell them, and like every summer since 5th grade my friend Annie and I have said we'd do it. But now I'm seeing for sure just how profitable it can be, without even needing any creative embellishments--- just call it "vintage" and people will flock.
I have however regained faith in the possibilities of thrifting after a little neighborhood flea market today (Leigh, it was the shitty MacArthur Blvd. one) landed me a baguette bag (think Versace, metallic and sequin-y, buckles and nonsense) for 20 bucks which, oh my, turns out to be from a French Haute Coture line and possibly worth several hundred dollars. These things never happen to me... trust me. I think I'm in the afterlife.
