I have a dream of being more well traveled, as well. I've at least been everywhere within the US, but not very much out of it. At least you've got some nice visits under your belt! ;-)

You can do it! EVERYWHERE in the USA is impressive as well. I dream about going to Hawaii one day.

I feel jealous.
Also I can relate to the need to plan thoroughly before a trip which includes doing all sorts of reading for hours in advance. But then I have also found that in some sense, we can only plan so much for life, traveling which I take to be a kind of metaphor for pure life. Sometimes we just have to let it happen. And then often incredibly wonderful things that we could not have expected seem to happen all over the place!
Lastly I have also found sometimes that an old fashioned map is more useful than a smart phone!!
