I am part of a literary group here in my hometown. I tried to explain to them how fandoms work, but they don't get it. I like them a lot, but I can't connect with them like I'm able to connect with people here. :)

I'm so glad you're back. And really excited to read the fic.

My work life sounds similar to yours, except that - very bad of me, I know - I'm able to sneak online at work a lot, and so haven't had to give up my fannish life because of work. There have been times when I felt I couldn't cope with both but the fannish stuff is such an important part of my life now I can't imagine being without it.

*Sigh* no such sneaking away at my work. They block all websites that are fun, sometimes even the ones I need for my work....

I've been so pleased to see you back around LJ- and this just makes it even better. I understand wanting the security of a drone-type of job, but that doesn't mean it has to take over your whole life. I'm glad you're finding that creative outlet again, and letting yourself have that again.

Awww! Thank you! *hug* I've missed our chats and our collaborations. That was a great time! Remember our Xmas fic? I always loved writing with you! I've written all sorts of original texts since then, poems, storis, a children's book, but it's not the same....
