That two parter is in fact one of the best episodes of The West Wing. I've re-watched it many times.

Now you'll have to excuse me. I shouldn't be in this meeting; I need to get to New Hampshire.

I love that episode. I admit that if anything was going to make me tear up right now, that's the episode that would do it. We've seen it a lot, also and I find new things in it every time.

one of the classic WWs.

if you want to cry some more: In Excelsis Deo, where Toby arranges a funeral for a homeless veteran.

Toby: A homeless man died last night; a Korean War veteran, who was wearing a coat that I gave to the Goodwill. It had my card in it.

Bartlet: Toby, you’re not responsible for-

Toby: An hour and twenty minutes for the ambulance to get there. A Lance Corporal, United States Marine Corps, Second of the Seventh. The guy got better treatment at Panmunjom.

Bartlet: Toby, if we start pulling strings like this, you don’t think every homeless veteran would come out of the woodworks?

Toby: I can only hope, sir.

also an excellent episode. I really appreciated "Two Cathedrals" also. Really well-written and well-executed. I was surprised how powerful that scene was when he stamped out his cigarette on the cathedral floor. I gasped the first time I saw it, I think.
