Catching Up and Diving Back In

May 23, 2012 15:30

I haven't posted to Live Journal since June of 2011 - when we lost Julian all together and it looked like we would never see him again.  I'd like to get back to posting, and I've tried several times, but after such a long lapse it always feels like there's too much to catch up on.  So I'm just going to dive right back in with some salient points.

I'm so glad that you posted! I've missed hearing from you!

I had no idea that it was possible to live without a stomach! I really, really hope it doesn't come to that. I am keeping you in my prayers and I hope that you are feeling better soon. I can't believe how much weight you have lost. You do look fantastic (you always look fantastic, weight has nothing to do with it) but I worry because I know that you are losing weight from not being able to eat and that isn't fun.

I refuse to believe that your kids are getting so big! I feel like just yesterday, you were posting to let us all know that you were expecting triplets...never mind the miracle that is Tobie! Julian is also never far from my thoughts. I know your arms must be hungry for him.

A thousand blessings upon your family! I hope Seth finds stable work soon and that you all have one less thing to worry about. :)

Yep, absolutely possible to live without a stomach. You have to change the way you eat significantly, but you really don't need your stomach to survive in the same way you need, say, a liver or a kidney or a heart.

My kids have turned into little people - it's astounding, really. I'm in awe of it. :)

Thank you for your thoughts and prayers - they are much appreciated.

Really good to see an update Karen. Even if the whole stomach mess were *not* something you're dealing with, I'd absolutely feel for you re: single-parenting for 6 weeks. But with the gasterpainintheassisis on top of it all... just, OY! I'm glad you'll have some scheduled help. Doesn't make things easy, but maybe a bit easier. If you're up for it, I'd love to come visit. If it's in mid-June, I'd have to being my 4 with me. If that would be too overwhelming, I could find some time while everyone's in camp....
