Pokemon AU - Hoenn

Tori was on a winning streak as she successfully obtained all the badges from Johto and participated in the region's Pokemon League, as challenging as it was. She was excited to venture out to Hoenn, but she'd go alone without any Pokemon traveling with her, ready to catch new species and start fresh without her partners from the previous two regions. Afraid she might get hurt, her mom asked Prof. Oak to contact Prof. Birch to meet her at the port to at least accompany her until she got a Pokemon. Tori would find that Hoenn would be a wondrous place full of brand new adventures and scenery, but also new threats, such as Team Magma and Team Aqua. She would also become infuriated with Pokemon Contests, finding their whole existence completely unnecessary, though Pokeblocks are something she loves to make as treats for her companions.

Main Team

Data

Profile: He was Tori's first Pokemon companion in Hoenn. He was rather shy as a Mudkip and though he enjoyed walking with her, he'd hide in her arms or behind her legs on occasion. As he grew, he became less timid and more upfront. He really dislikes spicy food and spicy Berries. Samuel enjoys ferrying Tori on his back when they have to cross the ocean. Since he was her first companion in such a vast region, he's very attached and protective of her. As the leader of her party, he tries his best to keep everyone safe. Samuel dislikes Gary's arrogant attitude and Sasha's fawning over Tori's prettier Pokemon. He has a crush on Kandy's Stoutland named Diana.

Attacks:
Surf, Earthquake, Strength, Ice Beam, Protect

Swampert

Samuel.

Male.

Timid.

Net Ball.

Data

Profile: She's very determined to win and quite fast, so she gets along well with Liberty. But unlike the Pidgeot, Destdra enjoys teamwork and tries to help everyone else bring out their potential in battle. She adores sitting in the warm sand near the hot springs of Lavaridge Town. Sometimes she gets jealous because Samuel takes charge of everyone else, but she understands that in a fight, despite her speed, he'd still win against her. She helps Tori look for hidden treasures in the dessert.

Attacks:
Dragon Claw, Earth Power, Fly, Crunch, Screech

Flygon

Destdra.

Female.

Adamant.

Level Ball.

Data

Profile: He gave Tori a hard time when she first caught him as an Electrike, not because he was naughty, but simply because he was too fast. He gets irritated sometimes with Samuel when he slaps mud in his face to calm down, so they argue often. Zapper will not exhaust himself in battle nor will he do things somebody else is perfectly capable of doing, which sometimes proves frustrating to Tori. Nevertheless, he remains loyal to her though the term "guard dog" doesn't apply to him.

Attacks:
Thunderbolt, Crunch, Thunder Wave, Swift, Flame Burst

Manectric

Zapper.

Male.

Relaxed.

Quick Ball.

Data

Profile: Although she gets bouncy sometimes, Rosepunch doesn't cause mischief for her Trainer, which is something Tori is extremely thankful for. She's not quick to anger, but once she reaches that point, she unleashes a fury of very painful punches for about five seconds and then she's calm again. She enjoys headbutting trees to get fruit and berries down from them so everyone else can snack, but there was one incident when she attacked a Tropius by accident. Tori was not amused. Rosepunch has a crush on Champ.

Attacks:
Mach Punch, Sky Uppercut, Headbutt, Seed Bomb, Bulk Up

Breloom

Rosepunch.

Female.

Calm.

Pokeball.

Data

Profile: Tori at first didn't know how to feel when she captured this Pokemon, as it's rather emotionless and not very sociable with the rest of her team. Sunburst enjoys reading Tori's mind so it knows how to attack even before she gives out a command. It communicates with its partner in double battle using telepathy, so most of the companions enjoy fighting with it. Though Sunburst seems to be emotionless, it has shown sympathy for when Tori becomes sad and warms her with its body. It also enjoys dancing to fast-paced music.

Attacks:
Flamethrower, Rock Slide, Psychic, Cosmic Power, Solarbeam

Solrock

Sunburst.

None.

Modest.

Ultra Ball.

Data

Profile: He's very brave and often volunteers to fly alongside Tori as she's walking in case he needs to protect her. Ace doesn't know when to give up and will overexert himself a lot of the time, which causes Tori to worry about him when he's being healed at the Pokemon Center. He wishes he were big enough like Destdra to fly Tori places, but the last time he tried that, his talons ended up scratching her shoulders. She told him not to feel bad about it, but to this day he cringes when he sees the faint scars when she goes swimming.

Attacks:
Aerial Ace, Wing Attack, Steel Wing, Double Team, Pluck

Swellow

Ace.

Male.

Hardy.

Pokeball.

Other Teammates

Data

Profile: Tori was not aware that the Wurmple she caught was of the shiny variety until Prof. Birch saw her data on the Pokedex. The girl didn't treat her Pokemon any differently as she knew shiny Pokemon were only coveted by collectors and had no impact on their fighting ability. Silkcha was very docile with her, even as a Beautifly, which surprised her as the species tend to be aggressive sometimes. She enjoys doing fancy aerial displays, but Tori refuses to enter any of her Pokemon in contests.

Attacks:
Silverwind, Electroweb, Giga Drain, Psychic, Quiver Dance

Beautifly

Silkcha.

Female.

Calm.

Pokeball.

Data

Profile: She was injured badly as a Ralts when Tori caught her, having been poisoned by Silkcha's Poison Sting, so the Trainer used a Heal Ball on her so she'd be refreshed when she was released to become acquainted. Beauregard is very loving and empathetic, as well as extremely loyal to Tori and her team. She often fights alongside with Ace as their bravely knows no bounds, but it's because of this that the Trainer tries not to use them in double battles together. She likes walking with Tori and is very friendly with new people they meet.

Attacks:
Psychic, Calm Mind, Shadow Ball, Thunderbolt, Safeguard

Gardevoir

Beauregard.

Female.

Calm.

Heal Ball.

Data

Profile: Tori adored him as a Surskit but didn't mind when he evolved. She liked watching him skate on the water's surface. He's rather shy and doesn't like that his antenna scare his comrades whenever he tries to socialize with them. He's bothered by the fact that such a beautiful Pokemon like Silkcha can be aggressive, so he tries not to upset her and gets cowardly when she fights. Seb prefers not to fight if he doesn't have to since he'd rather be at peace with other species.

Attacks:
Bubblebeam, Air Slash, Stun Spore, Energy Ball, Bug Buzz

Masquerain

Seb.

Male.

Bashful.

Pokeball.

Data

Profile: Tori is completely at a loss as to how much Felina changed when she evolved. She doesn't like nonsense and will not interfere with conflict unless she's in a battle. Then she'll be ruthless and won't give up until she wins. She enjoys walking with Tori and adores compliments she receives from people, especially for her rare coat. She's seductive and suave and usually gets what she wants, though Tori scolds her sometimes for that. She likes Sasha because she compliments her and has an eye for beauty, but she refuses to fight alongside her Pokemon because Felina believes no team can ever amount to the valor and ability her comrades have.

Attacks:
Iron Tail, Strength, Attract, Sucker Punch, Zen Headbutt

Delcatty

Felina.

Female.

Sassy.

Love Ball.

Data

Profile: He's not a favorite of other Trainers when Tori chooses him to walk alongside her. He enjoys being in the desert since he can see better and be her extra eyes, especially at night, but he usually creeps out other people and Pokemon. He's actually a pretty nice Cacturne, but he's also rather mischievous and likes irritating his teammates because he thinks it's funny. He gets along well with Icabod but he doesn't like Tori's Bug-types. He's somewhat afraid of all of them, even the ones who are friendly and docile.

Attacks:
Needle Arm, Poison Jab, Drain Punch, Double Team, Cotton Spore

Cacturne

McGraw.

Male.

Impish.

Dusk Ball.

Data

Profile: If it weren't for Felina, Tori might have never caught this Pokemon as a Swablu. But the girl has a rule she made to herself: catch the first sighting of a species she finds. Her first sighting of a Swablu happened to be a shiny and she wasn't going to let her get away, using Felina to battle her. Nimbus likes singing to the team which everyone enjoys, and she has a habit of cleaning up after everyone. Because of this, she gets along exceedingly well with poor Bernard and she comforts him when he's being picked on. Tori and the other Pokemon like cuddling with her because of her fluffy wings. She's coveted by many female Trainers that Tori battles.

Attacks:
Dragon Pulse, Flamethrower, Ice Beam, Fly, Featherdance

Altaria

Nimbus.

Female.

Gentle.

Great Ball.

Data

Profile: Almost a complete opposite of Felina, Zeezee is the most annoyed with her, particularly for the fact that she uses her looks to get what she wants. She's a very hardy combatant and gives her teammates positive comments if they do well in double battles. She doesn't like slackers so she has issues with the more laid back members. Zeezee thinks Pokemon Contests are stupid and isn't too fond of Sasha's team because of this, but she also doesn't like arrogance and will kick dirt in Gary's face whenever she sees him.

Attacks:
Crush Claw, X-Scissor, Brick Break, Shadow Claw, Swords Dance

Zangoose

Zeezee.

Female.

Lonely.

Nest Ball.

Data

Profile: She was revived from a fossil that Tori found in the desert with help from McGraw. She's rather slow and prefers to stay put, but she becomes a fierce fighter when sent out to battle. Her will to succeed is strong and she'll use any means necessary to achieve victory for her or for her teammates. She's the only one who is able to outsmart Felina and even trick her on rare occasions. Gertrude really loves when Tori travels to a beach and lets the team out to relax. She spends a lot of her time swaying in the water, reminiscing about the days past millions of years ago. She laughs at the pranks Icabod and the other mischievous Pokemon do.

Attacks:
Ancient Power, Energy Ball, Sludge Bomb, Rock Polish, Seed Bomb

Cradily

Gertrude.

Female.

Docile.

Pokeball.

Data

Profile: She was found injured near a stream where the Feebas had been battling a Trainer and their Pokemon. Tori found out that the Feebas had attacked the Trainer's Pokemon for harassing her, which led to a full battle. They had gone too far which made Tori angry, so she and Felina came to Phoebe's defense. Not having supplies required to heal her wounds, the girl took her to a Pokemon Center to be treated properly. Nurse Joy told her that this was the same Feebas people kept bringing to get healed, but nobody ever cared to take her with them, simply leaving her back in the wild. It's then Tori decides to keep her and make her a part of the team. Phoebe is very thankful.

Attacks:
Return, Ice Beam, Water Pulse

Feebas

Phoebe.

Female.

Brave.

Luxury Ball.

Data

Profile: He's rather inquisitive and likes to read everything he sees. Optimistic, he goes into battles hopeful that he'll win, even though that's not always the case. He enjoys floating alongside Tori when it rains or any other tough weather conditions as he's able to guide her through it and be her eyes when she can't see through her goggles. He knows a lot and is very observant about human behavior out of curiosity, so he understands more than his comrades do. Bernard gets along well with him but avoids him when the weather changes as he gets moody. He sometimes pops out of his ball without Tori's consent.

Attacks:
Water Pulse, Flamethrower, Thunderbolt, Ominous Wind, Rain Dance

Castform

Casper.

Male.

Quirky.

Premier Ball.

Data

Profile: He's very quiet. Too quiet. In fact he's so quiet that the rest of the team makes noise on purpose so it's not so eerie. Grimm moves rather slow which sometimes is an issue of frustration with his faster teammates. When Tori has her back turned and if another teammate doesn't behave, he hypnotizes them to calm down. Grimm considers himself responsible and will not play pranks unlike Icabod and Hex. He glares often at McGraw for he doesn't like that he creeps on people purposely. Extremely loyal to Tori, he goes out of his way to defend her from the likes of Team Magma and Team Aqua, or any other threats she encounters.

Attacks:
Shadow Punch, Shadow Ball, Confuse Ray, Psychic, Ice Punch

Dusclops

Grimm.

Male.

Quiet.

Dusk Ball.

Data

Profile: He was found when Rosepunch accidentally headbutted him. He's proven to be a strong addition to Tori's team, but he'd much rather bask in the sun or rain. Banasaur loves picking berries and fruits from trees and he has a good eye for them. He helps Tori find fruit she otherwise can't spot and treats him to freshly made snacks using them. His mood is usually in a very happy state of mind, but he'll become agitated if he's teased with fruit and doesn't get any. For this reason he doesn't enjoy the pranks the Ghost Pokemon like to pull on him. He and Destdra have a lot of aerial competitions, though he only wins every so often.

Attacks:
Strength, Solarbeam, Leaf Blade, Air Slash, Synthesis

Tropius

Banasaur.

Male.

Jolly.

Friend Ball.

Data

Profile: The first time Tori saw her was during a storm as she was traveling. Casper asked the Absol to help them find a safe place to stay, so feeling generous, she led them to a cave to relax until the storm cleared up. She wouldn't trust Tori when she wanted to pet her or offer her food, but she proved herself by defending her from an attack by two Team Magma grunts. Since then, she's become a part of Tori's team and fights viciously to help her win. Destiny has an air of intelligence that makes the others revere her. Casper is her favorite buddy and the only one who appreciates her weather perception abilities.

Attacks:
Night Slash, Psycho Cut, Swords Dance, Aerial Ace, Shadow Claw

Absol

Destiny.

Female.

Careful.

Ultra Ball.
