If it's general anesthesia, which is how my wisdom teeth were done, you won't have time to babble. For me, they put the needle in my arm, then told me that they were about to put me under, and to count backward from ten, and they turned the knob which allowed the anesthesia to flow into my arm, and I said, "Ten, ni" and I woke up on the recovery couch.

Local anesthesia is awesome. My mouth felt like two baloons pressing against each other every time I tried to talk or chew. Highly recommend it.

Yeah. I asked them whether the needle in my right hand was for the anesthesia. Then I waited a few seconds and said "...when will it kick in?" And they said thirty seconds or so... so I waited, and talked, so I could tell when it happened. And then there was this giant rush and the light overhead blurred and I said "wheee!" and the next thing I remember was them leading me out of the operating room.
