are we talking endorsements (now ludicrously under FCC jurisdiction) or just things like Google AdSense?
either way, I have no problem with advertising if it provides a revenue stream to allow blogs to be a free service and uncensored sources of information. sadly net neutrality as currently envisioned could hurt as much as help that whole scenario, but in any case, as specifically covering advertisements on blogs, I think they're grand... even that horrible Evony crap.
Adverts that are clearly adverts and not astroturf, no problem if they are static - animated/Flash/etc. ads need to be scraped, wiped, expunged and if need be blasted from the face of the net.
As you have probably already guessed, I'm okay with ads.
I feel the best about them when they're used as endorsements of companies and organizations that the blogger trusts and supports, and when they're related to the usual topics of the blog.
