Previous week we finally got our electric car, a Buddy Electric! ^-^ It is a 100 % electric car with a range of up to 120 km and quite well suited for our daily needs. After having owned it for a week now I can say that I quite love to drive it! It is fun to drive, it slips between the traffic noise like a little mouse, and finding a parking space

I'm glad that it's making you happy and that it's got a healthy place in your family. Love the bumper sticker choice! :D

I do like the idea of a combined electric / gas powered car, with the range of some 50-60km on electric engine. Then 80% of all trips could be done electric, and the rest with the gas engine. Toyota Prius is not the type I mean, but a car that can run on PURE electric until battery runs out, then run as a hybrid after that.
Your experience with aggressive drivers is one of the reasons I would only get a "normal sized" electric / hybridelectric car. For now, I save the environment by using my electric bike to the train station and taking the electric train in to work :)

I understand your reasoning regarding getting a normal sized car, though, for our needs the Buddy is more suited than a normal sized car (we drive in Oslo a lot), so I would not let aggressive drivers affect my choice of car. They will have to deal with a dragon if they ever pose to be anything more than an inconvenience. *snugs your electric bike*

It does sound like they got the right thinking with the laws over there though, which is already a head start for people to switch!
And yeah, I drive careful around people with it, I do not want them to unknowingly jump out infront of the car.. :\ The range is quite decent, however. For most of your daily needs it is quite perfect, and if you can charge at your work it is even more so. The only time we will need to take out our Suzuki is if we are going to need a big car for transportation or for going further than its range. Not more than once or twice per month, I estimate.
